This policy describes what analytics data is collected when you visit this website, how it is used, and how to opt out.

1 · Overview

This is a personal portfolio and blog. The site itself does not collect accounts, passwords, or any form data. If you accept analytics below, two third-party tools are loaded to help understand how visitors interact with the content. If you decline, no analytics scripts run at all.

2 · Analytics tools

Umami Analytics

Umami is a cookieless, open-source analytics platform. It records page views and referrer sources without setting cookies, without logging IP addresses, and without collecting any personally identifiable information. It is fully GDPR-compliant by design.

  • No cookies stored on your device.
  • No IP address logged.
  • No cross-site tracking.
  • Data: page URL, referrer, browser type, OS, screen size, country (derived from anonymised IP, not stored).

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity is a behavioural analytics tool that records session replays and generates heatmaps. It helps identify usability issues — for example, which sections of a post are read most, or where users scroll off. Clarity may use cookies and does process limited personal data (IP-derived location, device info).

  • May store cookies on your device.
  • Records mouse movement, scrolling, and clicks (no keystrokes or form inputs).
  • IP address is used for geolocation and then discarded.
  • Data is processed by Microsoft and subject to Microsoft's privacy policy.

3 · Your choices

On your first visit a consent banner appears. You can accept or decline analytics at any time. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key analytics-consent.

  • Accept — both Umami and Clarity are loaded.
  • Decline — neither script is loaded; no data is collected.
  • Change your mind — use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer to reopen the banner at any time.
4 · No other data collection

This site does not run ads, does not use social tracking pixels, does not embed third-party comment systems, and does not sell or share any data. The only external requests made by this site are:

  • Google Fonts (font files served over CDN — IP sent to Google).
  • jsDelivr CDN (KaTeX math rendering — IP sent to jsDelivr).
  • Umami and Clarity (only if you accept analytics).
